We stayed for a night and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious dinner with fresh local ingredients. A cozy drink by the charming fireplace. The gardens were a lovely spot to unwind, and we loved the relaxing library nook too. One small downside was the lack of tea and coffee facilities in our room, but it didn't ruin our overall experience. 😊

The recent stay at Greywalls was memorable for several reasons. The beautiful gardens captivated me right from the start. I spent some relaxing time wandering through the well-maintained grounds, soaking in the stunning views over the golf course. The staff greeted me warmly, making me feel truly welcomed. The service in the restaurant was attentive, enhancing my dining experience. I particularly enjoyed the dinner at Chez Roux. the food was expertly prepared and delicious. some items on the menu felt limited, especially if you’re staying for several days. Breakfast choices offered a mix of options, but my first morning encountered a few cold dishes that were disappointing. The room I stayed in, although cozy and tastefully decorated, had some upkeep issues. The heating took a while to warm up, and unfortunately, the shower lacked strong water pressure. Those little annoyances aside, the overall ambiance and charm of the hotel made my stay worthwhile. I would consider visiting again, mainly for the lovely setting and friendly service.

Stunning views, but needs work
What a beautiful building and gardens! The location overlooking the golf course is a real treat. Loved the evening meal too, seriously enjoyed all the courses. But, the room was kinda dark and the portable heater felt like a sign they knew the heating problem. And navigating the driveway in the dark after dark was a bit sketchy.

but the service at dinner was kinda slow and awkward, and the wine billing mess was a bit weird for such a nice place.

missingWrote a review on Feb 26elegant atmospheregrand architecturestunning gardensroom upkeep
When it comes to comfort and coziness, the grand architecture and extensive gardens deliver a stunning experience, perfect for a chill-out getaway. The elegance of the public rooms, especially with their roaring fires during the evening, creates a wonderfully inviting atmosphere.
Some areas could use a facelift, especially in terms of room upkeep—think dust on furniture and splintering wood on the window frames. The dining experience felt a bit cramped, with tables too close for comfort, and some dishes didn't come out as hot as expected. If you're a light sleeper, the noise from surrounding rooms can be bothersome, especially with the odd scuffle of a late-night guest echoing through.

Elegant sitting rooms with unique features like cozy fires set mid-afternoon create a warm atmosphere. The large gardens host a variety of well-kept flowers, shrubs, and trees, providing a peaceful space to wander.
The drive has several pot-holes that could use some attention, detracting from the first impression. Upon arrival, the room felt quite cold and took a while to warm up, with some pre-heating being preferable. Light switches were awkwardly placed, and the combined fan and light in the bathroom disturbed sleep. Dining options felt limited, especially for those wanting vegan choices, as a small number of offerings had to be ordered rather than providing a buffet.
